How Long Will it Take Before My Insulation Order is Delivered?

Delivery typically takes between 1 and 3 business days, depending on which products you have ordered and where you need the insulation delivered to. For bulk orders or rural deliveries always allow 3 business days.

Insulation When You Need It

Dealing with a consistent and reliable insulation supplier that can manage to supply large quantities of insulation at short notice is of considerable advantage to a builder. Insulation is a bulky product, so builders avoid storing the product on site longer than is absolutely necessary. This also reduces the chances of it getting wet and essentially losing some of its performance R-value. Due to the nature of the construction industry, however, it can be difficult for the builder to know exactly when the building will be ready to be insulated until the time has actually come. At this point the insulation installation process, which typically takes less than a day to complete, is holding up the rest of the project, so it is understandable that builders want their insulation and they want it now!

Be Onsite to Receive Your Insulation Order

Pricewise Insulation recommends that you are onsite to receive your insulation order. Depending on how many bags you have ordered, these may arrive in bales. That is, several bags wrapped together in plastic. These can be rather difficult to move around the site, simply considering their size and weight, and dragging or carrying the bale is often out of the question. In fact, one bale of insulation can weigh more than 70 kilograms. However, if you are relatively fit and you use the right technique, you should be able to move them around quite easily.

Best Way to Move Insulation Bales Around the Site

Lift the bale up together with another person so that it is standing upright. Then stand behind the bale and push it forward using your body weight. As the bale starts to “roll” walk after it, pushing as you go to keep up the momentum. This typically works very well, unless of course the ground is particularly uneven. You might find then that it’s best to split open the bale and drag the bags inside individually. Be careful when splitting open the bale and don’t cut through the insulation bags themselves. You might find yourself carrying in a whole lot of loose insulation batts that have burst out of the compression packaged bags.
